All pots begin as moist clay in the studio. They are thrown on an electric
wheel and allowed to stiffen. The pots are then trimmed or used as pieces
of a constructed pot. After the pots become bone dry they are put into
an electric kiln and fired to a low temperature.
After being removed from the electric kiln they are glazed.
All glazes are carefully mixed in the studio from raw materials.
The pots are placed tightly in the gas kiln and fired to over 2300
degrees Fahrenheit. This firing process uses four propane burners
and takes approximately fourteen hours to fire and 36 hours to cool.
